Get rewarded!!! (Seriously...)

If you're planning on attending the concert this Saturday the 31st... you probably already know, all the seats are general admission. That means the first people in the door will have seats closest to the stage. We're making YOU the first person in the door by letting you in early with the WAY-FM Rewards App!

WAY-FM Rewards is a little application we set up to allow you to cash in on your friendship with us! Whenever a new benefit to our friends is available it will be accessible through the WAY-FM Rewards Application (http://apps.facebook.com/wayfmrewards/).

Here's how it works:
1) Become a fan of WAYFM Alabama on Facebook: Click Here.
2) Go to to our reward's page: Click Here.
3) Print the page (it's your access certificate).
4) Bring that page to Calvary Assembly's Epicenter starting at 5pm this Saturday the 31st If you get there after 5:30 you will be out of luck. (Don't be late, this is void if you're not early.)
5) Present your certificate to the attendant at the door.

*Access is only allowed through a specific door. Look for a Facebook sign. You must have a valid ticket to the show. We're not responsible if something doesn't work right with your printer or computer or if somehow this application malfunctions because of the droves of people that will use it. Basically... sometimes problems happen, we're just trying to offer you something fresh and free!

If you need anything email me, Betsy at betsy@wayfm.com of call the station (toll free) 1-888-239-2936

Yes, you must have a Facebook to join in this reward, but you do not have to keep it. If you so choose you can delete your page after you print your certificate, although we'd love you to stick around and be our friend! :-)

Crystal Apple Winner

The latest teacher honored for the Family Security Crystal Apple Award is Mrs. Kim Kiel from Monrovia Middle School. Her former student, Chandler Shields, nominated her. Here's what she said about Mrs. Kiel:

"Mrs. Kiel is an outstanding person. She was my science teacher last year and I miss her so much. I love how she taught the curriculum. Science is sometimes a hard subject for students to grasp; I ended up with one of the highest grades in the class because I had such a joy of learning! Mrs. Kiel made me excited to go to her class everyday. I wish all my teachers were like her!"

Nominate your teacher today!

Miss one night... miss a lot.

So, last night it just so happened that I wasn't really super well so I laid down and zoinked out. Usually, that wouldn't be a problem, but I missed my favorite show American Idol.

Good news is... Jack didn't miss last night's episode. *phew* In case you missed it last night too... here's something interesting... and a classic 'stick your foot in your mouth moment' (like I'm sure we've all had) that the new judge Kara ran into:

Click here to view the video/read the short story.

My advice:
Kara... do not tell Paula to hit you! Paula is all kinds of silly and she's liable to actually knock you out.

Tell us what you think! Do you have a 'favorite' already?

Have fun... laugh... & win!

Starting Monday (when Jack decides to sleep in and have the day off--hehe!) I'll be giving you the opportunity to win tickets to see Matthew West AND Sanctus Real on Jan. 31st at Calvary Assembly's Epicenter (west of the bridge to Decatur).

What you'll need to do:
-When it's time, call in to 1-888-23-WAYFM
-When you hear "Good morning, WAYFM?" start singing your lungs out!

What to sing:
-A Matthew West or Sanctus real song (only about 10 seconds worth).

Do you have to sound like the next American Idol?
-No. In fact... if you sound like William Hung you'll still win!

Why?
-Because its fun and who really wants to be labeled 'caller number 9'? It's more fun to laugh and sing and have a good time winning!

Oh... oh yeaaaa! DON'T FORGET:
This MONDAY will be the GRAND PRIZE giveaway with our 'Tickets for all of 2009' contest as well. Check the last few blogs for details on that contest!

Tebow leads on and off the field...

If you've ever played a sport where the sun or stadium lights are in your eyes, you've probably worn 'eye black'. In the last year or so teams have replaced the old runny mascara look for a more polished sticker that athletes wear under their eyes. With that, many of the players have decided to get creative and add a bit of personal flare to their 'uniform' look.

I first noticed it when I saw Ohio State Quarterback Terrelle Pryor sporting the verse Phil 3:14 (not to be confused with 4:13) which is: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

With all the buzz about the SEC and now, with the Gators clinching the National Championship win against the Sooners, Tim Tebow has, for some time been the center of attention in many ways in the eyes of fans and the media. Aside from the call for unsportsmanlike conduct in the final minutes of last night's game, even the sports commentators told of his countless missions of mercy, his heart, and there have been other stories that have run about the simplest of changes... the bible verse on his eye black.

Tebow used to sport Phil 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." but lately has worn John 3:16 as he did during last night's win.

Frankly... its great that in a sport that often glorifies self especially at a time in someone's life when it *could* be all about 'me, me, me' Tebow seems to lead by example on and off the field. We all could use a role model like this.

Thanks for stopping by...
