WIN FOR DAD FINALS! (Vote Now!!!)
The entries have poured in and we have SIX finalist for our Dad's Day contest! Shumake furniture in Decatur has made is possible that ONE of the following will have the opportunity to come to their store and pick out a brand new chair valued up to $600!
Please check out the pictures below, read the notes attached to them and VOTE at the bottom of this post! Thanks and you can vote once per day!
Chair1: As you can tell by the picture, my dad's chair is about to fall apart. The seat is basically a crater, he has to use a cooler to prop up the foot rest, and there are numerous tears and holes. I think my dad deserves a new chair because he got this one when I was born, to rock me to sleep, and now I am 17. He is an amazing dad who puts himself last and us first.
Chair2: My dad doesn't have a recliner, he drives a big truck all week so this is his chair. I want him to have a new big recliner so when he comes home he can be comfortable.
Chair3: Our Dad is super-sized in every way: huge heart, colossal cheeks, and massive mid-section. Whenever he walks by, we sing, I feel the earth move under my feet. We cant imagine having a skinny Dad, and we cant imagine any other Dad who emulates such enormous acts of love. But, our gentle giant has broken 3 chairs, and his repairs never last. Dad needs an over-sized chair. He needs be able to sit back and relax in something he wont break! Now our Dad sits on the scruffy couch or hard floor. Were praying for a size-able solution!
Chair4: My dad is a great dad....he works hard to provide for his family. He has a big heart and is always doing nice things for other people. He deserves a place to come in and rest after a long day of work. His recliner that he has now is struggling! It is old and worn and torn!
Chair5: My Daddy deserves a new chair because: this old recliner is his FAVORITE! It is very worn out. (We have sewn up parts of it several times.) We have talked about getting a new one, but my Daddy does not like to spend money on himself. I am going to be a senior this year and through the years instead of a new chair he has paid for art lessons, art supplies, piano lessons, and other things that we need. I think that this would be a great Father's Day surprise!
Chair6: Our dad deserves a new chair because he works very hard to support and take care of our family. He always thinks of our family first. Our dad deserves a new chair because he does not have his 'own chair'. He doesn't own a recliner and the photo is of our couch. Our dad hates this couch, it is so old and uncomfortable, he always lies on the floor to watch TV because he said the couch hurts his back. If he had his own chair that would be the greatest gift we could give him for Father's Day.

Thank you!
We want to say thank you SO much for your support this past week during our Spring Pledge drive. Although we did not meet our goal, we want you to know that we appreciate you so much and look forward to doing what we can to remain here in the valley as your 88.1 WAY-FM.
Thank you for the prayers, donations, and love. We also want to thank all of the volunteers that gave of their time, talents, and made pledge drive extremely fun for all of our staff.
In case you are asking, 'ok... where did you end up?':
On Friday, May 15th we went off the air at 8pm without meeting our goal. On Saturday, we decided to come back on the air from 8a-2p to ask for any last gifts anyone might have, knowing full well that sometimes during a busy week you may forget or not be listening much to know what's going on.
We had a great day Saturday and enjoyed hearing stories from many listeners. Including a homeless person that's in drug rehab at the downtown rescue mission and an inmate giving a portion of his pay because the workers are allowed to listen to the station.
88.1 WAY-FM stands now at 89.92% of the overall goal.
Thankfully we hit 100% of our monthly goal, but we still need help where we lack in the one time gift goal.
We're roughly $14,000 away from being 100% fully funded in both those categories. That $14,000 would put the station at 100% for pledge drive.
Again, thank you for your gifts because without them and without your prayers of love and support we wouldn't even be this far along. God bless you and your families!

We just hit 100% in MONTHLY support!
We now need single gifts of support!
The number's 1-888-239-2936 Can you give 100, 500, maybe 1k?
Anything you can give will go towards supporting YOUR station, 88.1 WAY-FM and keep us on the air!
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Cows on the Arsenal?
At a recent Free Lunch Friday, Betsy & I delivered lunch out at the Arsenal. On our way out I noticed a barbed wire fence & joked about having cattle there. Within seconds Betsy spotted a cow. So the mission at that point was to find out what the story was behind cattle on an army base! :)
Check out the audio below to see how this played out on-air. :)

Get ready for Easter Sunday!
If you don't have a church home, or maybe you are looking for a way to connect with people all over the area... join me, Betsy Sharp, tonight at Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville for 'RISEN'.
It all kicks off at 6pm in the parking lot with a party including food vendors so come eat at the parking lot party where I'll be playing WAY-FM and hanging out. After the lot party, stick around and hear guest speaker Chad Poe and worship with with the group 'Micah' and solo artist Matt Haney.
After the time of worship we'll kick back, fellowship and have fun playing video games, pool, and chill in the cafe.
